Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m an Events Manager at the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA), the industry body and public policy advocate for the private equity and venture capital industry in the UK. I manage the operational team responsible for delivering 50+ events, both in person and virtually, catering to the needs of stakeholders within the private capital industry.

With over 16 years in the events industry, I previously led the Special Events team at Blood Cancer UK and was responsible for delivering a broad range of events from concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, to intimate dinners at Royal Venues. I also volunteers on the board of FemMentored, a global community of women working in and around the social impact space.

Where/how did your journey start in the events world?

I always say I fell into events by chance. Having worked in admin at a Credit Card Company and then Essex Police, I saw a role working in the not for profit sector in events. I leaped at the opportunity, found my forte and have never looked back. I spent 16 years in the NFP sector before moving to the corporate sector earlier this year.

What made you want to get involved in EMA?

Having heard about EMA through my Director, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to join the board, share knowledge , best practice and expertise. Am really looking forward to being a part of EMA’s growth moving forward.

How do you relax/what do you do for fun?

Along with the usual; seeing friends/family, working out, and reading I also volunteer as a foster carer for the Dogs Trust taking in four legged friends as they wait for their forever homes.
