Job Description – Snr Fundraising Exec, Grocery Aid
Reporting to:
Fundraising Director

GroceryAid is the national charity for the grocery industry – from the largest factory, through the supply chain, to the smallest store. Supporting 1000’s of people every month we offer crisis grants, 24/7 helpline, financial guidance, legal support, workload, health and wellbeing, stress and depression counselling. Working with the largest FMCG brands and retailers in the world including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, M&S, Waitrose, Mondelez, Unilever, CCE, P&G and 100’s more, our fundraising is realized through the most exciting events and fundraising activities.
Main Purpose of Role:
As a senior member of the Fundraising team you will take ownership for a suite of fundraising activities including major events. Building relationships and awareness across the industry you will run the most exciting events and engage with supporters to enable successful revenue opportunities.
Main Responsibilities of the Role:

Deliver exceptional, must attend industry leading events

Ensure all fundraising revenues are met
•
Build excellent supporter relationships
•
Act as a spokesperson for the charity
•
Proactively seek and lead on new fundraising initiatives
Role breakdown in detail:
Fundraising
•
Support the Fundraising Director in developing new ideas for Fundraising activities
•
Own personal events and support the team in achieving the overall fundraising targets
•
Ensure charity margins are maintained and exceeded
•
Build partnerships to enable new revenue streams
•
Challenge all existing fundraising and develop new, better ways to raise money
•
Manage the relationship of 3rd party events and provide any support needed
•
Work with Fundraising Director to identify calendar of events for following year along with new opportunities
•
Set up and attend client meetings and manage post meeting follow ups
Event Management
•
Responsible for all elements of event delivery, on time and to budget
•
Ownership of all event documentation including timeline, running order, budget, marketing plan
•
Constantly strive to improve our events - challenge the format, re-invigorate events year on year
•
Ownership of project management including all meetings, stakeholder mgmt, committee involvement, review and debrief
•
Work alongside the contracted EM to ensure the project is delivered on time and to budget
•
Ensure all parties meet key milestones
•
Management of the event sub-committee
•
Preparation of all meetings and minutes on time
•
Management of RFP’s to review suppliers
Other
•
Support the junior members of the team by providing guidance and training
•
Attend awareness events and act as a charity representative
•
Deliver high class charity presentations to new and current supporters
•
Support FD with Fundraising committee including meeting planning
Experience / Skills
•
Minimum 7 years event management experience, agency experience would be desirable
•
Fundraising/sales experience within a B2B charity environment
•
Ability to gain trust and build strong relationships at Director level
•
Strong project management skills, event delivery and stakeholder management
•
Marketing planning and strategy to sell events
•
Motivated to work to deadlines and targets
•
Experience of Public presentations
•
Experience of managing budgets with income and spend to deliver bottom line contribution
•
Highly motivated self-starter with ambition to make things happen
•
Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while working under pressure, on multiple projects

Salary: £40k per annum
•
Hours are Monday to Thursday 9.00am – 5.00pm and Friday 9.00am to 4.00pm
